Moving right along...

Well Happy Thanksgiving!! We had a great time over this Holiday weekend. We got to see some family members and had some good eats also!! Kristen was eating for 2 and for some reason I was as well... Oh well, we have 4 weeks before we do this again! We really enjoyed the fellowship we had with the family, it's always good to catch up and give details of this past year, and how it went.

Kristen has been coming along! Her tiredness is starting to subside somewhat. Her morning (all day)sickness has almost completely gone away. So things are moving in the right direction!! She is in week 13!! I have listed some changes that come along with being in the 13th week. Her little belly is getting rounder and rounder. Still minimal weight gain though.

I will try to get some pictures of Kristen during this week. I will also try to get some pics of Soph as well!

Changes that occur in the fetus since Kristen is 13 weeks pregnant.

With a 13 weeks pregnancy ultrasound,we should be able to observe our little baby grow. Among the 3 trimesters of pregnancy, this trimester is the most essential for your baby’s development.

The 13 week fetus is about the size of 2.5 to 3.3 inches in length and weighs about two ounces. The fetus is about the size of a peach! By this week, the little hairs also referred to as lanugo, begin to grow throughout the baby’s body.

The little one’s amniotic sac increases in size and mass because it continues to fill up with more fluid. The placenta is bigger than the baby and its vital role increases in filtering the residues from the baby’s digestion.

From this week onwards, our will baby concentrate on developing and growing stronger in order to live outside of the uterus. The baby’s bones go through a very important change during this week. They harden further as the baby receives the calcium from your nutrition and supplements.

The little eyes begin to move closer together when they are in week 13, and they rest closely along the sides of their head. Our baby’s tiny pancreas begins to produce the insulin, which is essential to regulate the baby’s blood sugar levels later in its life. Our baby’s head will appear larger than the rest of its body at this time. This will of course be temporary unless the baby continues to look like me it's Dad. The size of my dome is not doing any favors to the fetus.

Great News!!!

Well if you didn't know, Kristen is 12 weeks pregnant. She is due on the 31st of May. We are very excited, as this has been an answer to prayers!! So what going on at 12 weeks, you ask? Great question... Here are some details below about the little soon to be crumb snatcher.

Baby Size
2.1 in
plum

Baby Weight
.49 oz

Baby
The features on the baby's face is becoming more defined. The eyes have moved towards the front of the face and the chin and nose have taken more shape. The baby's tiny fingernails are now well formed on fingers that will soon be able to open and close. In our baby's brain, synapses are rapidly growing.
S/He is already thinking about either Law or Medical school. 2ndly, s/he is already trying to figure out if Albert Pujols will stay with the Cardinals or go somewhere else to play and make a terrible career decision. Just food for thought as the Baby continues to develop.

Mom
Mom is starting to feel better now. She has been suffering from morning sickness that has affected her all day. Her energy level is still low but starting to increase! Smells aren't as much of a big deal anymore as they have been this past 3 months. She is moving along perfectly while maintaning her great looks of course!
